At Chestnut Grove Academy we believe in fostering intellectual curiousity and actively encourage our students to engage, contribute, participate and to organise the participation of others.

Students act as peer-mentors, cross-age tutors, student leaders and chair student council meetings. Thus, their profound impact is keenly acknowledged within the Academy community and is welcomed. The head students meet weekly with the Headteacher and express the student perspective, allowing a free-flow and exchange of ideas to enhance the student experience.

Our key inclusive extra-curricular activity is our Sixth Form Society, a debating forum open to all sixth formers running each week after school on a Thursday, between 3.15pm to 4.15pm. Here guest speakers from the great and the good address student audiences and students are able to challenge their arguments, assumptions and viewpoints. Previous speakers have included politicians, public figures, charity organisations and business leaders, both local and national.

A full list of confirmed guest speakers  will be published soon to whet everyone's appetite!

Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 restrictions guest speakers are currently unable to attend school.
